Frequently Asked Questions

In which states is your workshop offered?
The Bringing Baby Home Program is available in a variety of states and locations. View our list of Certified Educators to find a workshop in your area.

Can we attend the workshop if we are not married?
Yes!! Many couples attend who are not married. We encourage unmarried, cohabitating or same sex couples to participate in the workshop.

Can I come to the workshop alone? My partner does not want to come.
We do not recommend this program to individuals. It is intended for couples and we find that many of the skills and time spent on relationship exercises are only valuable when 2 people are present.

Will John or Julie Gottman be conducting the workshop in person?
No. The workshop is conducted by a Certified Gottman Educator who has completed a Certification Training under the direction and evaluation of the Relationship Research Institute and Drs. John and Julie Gottman. The content of the workshop is John Gottman’s research and has been created by his team of professionals.

Can I bring my children to the workshop?
Children under six months of age are often included in Couple's Workshops. Please contact the program in your area for further information.

Do we have to attend the whole workshop or just the parts that address issues we are currently experiencing?
It is recommended that each couple attend the workshop in its entirety. The information provided and the skills that are taught are intended to build upon one another. Most couples report that attending the whole workshop is valuable.

But your relationship needs care, too, just like your new baby, if your new family is going to thrive.  more »
